For example, HP, has not providing Vista driver for one of their product which is quite popular, Laserjet 1012 home printer.

3) Familiarity
Differ from the previous version of Windows upgrading, a lot of technical improvement have been stripped away from Vista.
What users are left is the new interface changing that requires re-learning. For instance, the Display Properties. As it has been re-designed for Vista, several items have been split into different windows accessible.

4) Maturity
Windows XP have been pounded on user computers for years. The results acquires Microsoft to successfully overcome weakness over weaknesses, which eventually makes XP to perform better and produced even greater version on its application. Just wait for the coming Internet Explorer 7 – maybe next year.
Compared to Vista, there are still numbers and numbers of unknown bugs shipped within it. Do you think has it ready for any of your critical production?

5) Flexibility
If you really bored of your Windows XP, and you might want it to look like more Vista, but at the same time you did not want to change to Vista, here is the proposal; you can go to www.wincustomize.com to provide you with plenty options of changing the skins of your XP. Hello Kitty Laptop

Japan's cutest cat in glittering crystal decorates NEC Corp.'s new pink laptop in the Japanese electronics maker's latest effort to woo working women.

The La Vie G Hello Kitty model, available for $1,650 by Internet order only in Japan, went on sale Wednesday, and has gotten off to a good start, company spokesman Shinya Hashizume said Thursday, while declining to give numbers.

The laptop, developed in collaboration with Sanrio Co., the Tokyo-based company behind Hello Kitty, uses 299 Swarovski crystals to depict four hearts and the bubbly feline head wearing a pink bow and crown.

NEC is hoping to sell several hundred of the Hello Kitty laptops in the next few months, targeting the summertime when Japanese workers receive their twice-a-year bonuses, Hashizume said.

The laptop, which comes with the Windows Vista operating system, 100-gigabyte hard disk drive and 1 gigabyte of memory, is being advertised as a laptop that's "dazzling and gorgeous like a jewelry box."

Hello Kitty has been popular for years with children and young women, but the cat has begun to appear on electronic gadgets, guitars and expensive jewelry.

There's even a Hello Kitty Barbie, who wears a belt, necklace and jacket with the image of the celebrity mouthless cat.

    Hotspots a Hot Topic

    >> Thursday

Some report an unusual sensitivity to the waves emitted in these hotspots. Officially, the levels of WiFi electromagnetic radiation emitted into the environment in a hotspot are well below recommended levels and there is no evidence of any risk to humans. Yet some people blame Wi-Fi exposure for everything from sleep disturbances, headaches and blurred vision, to heart and breathing problems.

Because no study has ever shown a conclusive risk to human health from exposure to these low-frequency radio transmissions, many simply shrug off the complaints of these people, choosing to believe their symptoms are coincidental or caused by another source.

So just how high are the levels of radiation in a hotspot? According to Dr. Michael Clark of the HPA, the published research on mobile phones and wireless networks does not indicate a risk to human health. "All the expert reviews done here and abroad indicate that there is unlikely to be a health risk from wireless networks," he says. "The few studies on mobile phone masts that have appeared in peer-reviewed journals claiming to observe health effects are not at all conclusive. The real problem is deciding what level of precaution is appropriate.

"When we have conducted measurements in schools, typical exposures from wi-fi are around 20 millionths of the international guideline levels of exposure to radiation. As a comparison, a child on a mobile phone receives up to 50 per cent of guideline levels. So a year sitting in a classroom near a wireless network is roughly equivalent to 20 minutes on a mobile. If wi-fi should be taken out of schools, then the mobile phone network should be shut down, too - and FM radio and TV, as the strength of their signals is similar to that from wi-fi in classrooms."

WiFi Radiation - Is WiFi Technology Bad For Your Health?

The technological benefits of Wireless Fidelity technology versus the wireless hazards is a hot debate in many different countries. In the United States, a class action lawsuit has been brought against a school board who use the technology in their classrooms. In Britain, it has been removed from some classrooms altogether. Are these precautionary measures necessary, or simply the reaction of a public frightened by a technology they do not fully understand?

    What is WiFi?
It is possible to form a somewhat informed opinion on the safety or potential risks of this new technology without actually being a physicist yourself.

Quite simply, Wi-Fi or WiFi is the wireless technology most commonly used to connect people to the internet in schools, coffee shops, hotels and other network locations, or to connect cell phone users to one another. Wi-Fi is certainly convenient for travellers and students, but is it dangerous? Many believe that the low-level electromagentic waves that radiate from the wireless internet source to each individual user can be harmful to your health, even causing cellular changes and possibly cancer.

The area covered by a Wi-Fi internet connection is known as a "hotspot"; this is the area in which the waves radiate to give users access to the internet. It can span several kilometers, although the waves cannot pass through treed areas. While in the hotspot, a laptop user can simply connect to the network, access the internet, and check their email or do their other business on the run.

A wireless network uses radio waves to send communications across a two-way network. A computer's wireless adapter translates the internet connection data into a radio wave and sends it to the wireless router - the one in your laptop. This process works in reverse as well, sending a radio signal back to the host computer.

Laptop Accessories - Wireless Mighty Mouse

    >> Monday

    Wireless Mighty Mouse

How do you improve on the mouse that has everything? Remove its tail. Mighty Mouse — the mouse that changed the way you scroll — has gone wireless. Now you can take that seamless, touch-sensitive, 360-degree scrolling design with you wherever you go.

    No Tail Required
With its secure, reliable Bluetooth technology, the wireless Mighty Mouse goes wherever you do. Pair it with any Bluetooth-enabled Mac and wireless keyboard to work untethered and uncluttered at your desk, or take your show on the road. Mighty Mouse lightens your load on the go by operating with either one or two AA batteries. That’ll save you lugging a bulky dock around.

    Laser-guided Precision
The wireless Mighty Mouse’s tracking engine is based on powerful laser technology that delivers 20 times the performance of standard optical tracking, giving you more accuracy and responsiveness on more surfaces. It works just as well on your office desk as it does on a table at your favorite coffee spot. So leave the mouse pad at home. Mighty Mouse is one smooth operator.

    Spry and Mighty
In the beginning, there was one button. Then there were two. Then there were clickable scroll wheels and programmable toggles and solid-state slides. But nobody made a mouse as easy to use as your Mac. Until now. Mighty Mouse combines the capability of a multibutton mouse with Apple’s signature top-shell design for the best of both form and function. Use it any way you work: Stick with single-button simplicity or click with multibutton efficiency.

    Get Around
Time is round. Space is curved. Why should your mouse be linear? Plenty of applications require you to do more than scroll up and down. Mighty Mouse offers 360-degree scrolling capability, thanks to its Scroll Ball, perfectly positioned to roll smoothly under just one finger. Explore the farthest reaches of your files — pan images in iPhoto, view timelines in iMovie HD and Final Cut Pro, traverse bars in GarageBand and Logic Pro — with one hand tied behind your back (or holding a cup of coffee or typing). Mighty Mouse gives you room to roam.

    You’ll Really Click
Touch-sensitive technology under Mighty Mouse’s seamless top shell detect where you’re clicking, transforming your sleek, one-button mouse into a two-button wonder. But the innovation doesn’t end there. Apple engineers added force-sensing buttons on either side of Mighty Mouse that let you squeeze the mouse, activating Mac OS X Dashboard, Exposé or a whole host of other, customizable features — instantly.

AppleCare Protection Plan for MacBook/iBook MA519LL/A 3 Years
    You Need This!!!,

Mac's are wonderful computers. But, not everyone is flawless, and it's possible you'll come across a situation you can't deal with. I've been using Mac's since 1993 and I've had to get help from tech help over the years. Less in recent years as I learn more and more about the OS and the machine, but their help is always invaluable, The quality of the tech help is great, very patient.

    Apple MacBook MB062LL/A : Review

    Apple MacBook MB-PARENT

If it's been two years, this one is worth the plunge.
I ordered my last small-screen iBook from Amazon just two summers ago. As usual, my heavy touch started shorting out the keyboard, and I couldn't afford several weeks of down time. Factor in the wait, the cost of repairs, and the improvements, and this 13" MacBook from Amazon seemed the best way to go.
It's about a hundred bucks more than the prior edition but worth it. The screen is wider, sharper and brighter (though I had no complaints with the predecessor). The speed of unloading internet pages is noticeably faster, a time-saver. The magnetically attached power cord should save the user the cost of an Apple adapter or two (about $80 each time you snap the thin wire). The keyboard area is larger, which is nice, though the different feel of the tracking area and right thumb-click (little play--it barely seems to go down) takes a bit of getting used to.
I didn't need a built-in camera or remote control, but what can you do. At least I was able to avoid the Superdrive (haven't found much use for DVD burning) and all the extras (and sales tax) they push if you buy from Apple Store. This machine doesn't require any additional memory or RAM, unless you're a heavy duty movie editor/audio engineer. It's a one-click purchase. I even took a pass on Apple's current iPod incentive (I still buy CDs, mostly from Amazon).
Even as I type this review, I'm conscious that the keyboard has a tighter feel and is quieter than the previous model. It also gets around in the often cumbersome and sluggish MS Word more quickly than the comparable machine of only two years ago. A great little work horse, and the transfer of information from your old computer has never been easier (make sure you have a firewire cable handy).

    Nokia N800 Internet Tablet PC

    Nokia N800 Internet Tablet PC

Customer Review : An awesome device at a reasonable price.

I am a self-professed gadget addict, so the Nokia N800 was something I had to get my hands on.

Once I picked it up, there was no going back. I plunked down by cash and started fooling around.

Here are the pros and cons as I see them.

As of now, there is no PC sync, so this is not really intended as a substitute for a PDA -- however I use my company's web-based intranet (webexone) to keep of all of my appointments and N800 works flawlessly. It appears that somebody should be able to code some kind of sync for the PIM programs that exist for the opensource Maemo (Nokia's brand of embedded Linux, which also was used on the N770) -- however, I'm not sure whether such programs, with Mac OS X or Windows synching capabilities would match the gnu-ethos of this product.

A few things I can suggest, based on my experience:

    1) Invest in a good case for this device. And if you are going to use it as a media player at the gym, be careful that the device for which you forked over four hundred clams doesn't go flying. Mine did, suffered nary a scratch (thanks to a solid build quality) -- but this thing has a gorgeous screen that just seems to cry out "crack me!"

    2) Invest in bluetooth keyboard for writing long emails. The Nokia SU-8W was my weapon of choice. It's pretty good too -- I have a few nitpicks, though:

Sony VAIO VGN-FZ140E/B 15.4" Notebook PC

Customer review : Solid, lighter & faster than my desktop!!

I own it only for a week now. Yet to explore several features. First impression is very good. Build quality is very good. No drag, faster, lighter. Wireless connection is good. Screen quality is good. Best thing is the video chat. Built-in camera mic are way better than my Logitech Quickcam Fusion(which is supposed to be one of the best). Played DVD quite nicely while downloading, doing other stuff. S-video works well.

Did not test DVD writer. Did not try playing media without booting OS yet. Did not stress test the system yet.

    The Good:
    1) Screen quality (compared to many other laptops).

    2) Build quality, looks - SOLID
    3) Comes with Wireless - N.
    4) Intel's Newer Graphics chipset, better for Vista Aero.
    5) My old sony used to have fan noise. This one is pretty good there.
    6) Considering it is Sony, the price is pretty good. Got it for 1149 at Circuit City.

    The Bad:
    1) It is still pricey.
    2) Does not have graphics card, for gamers.
    3) Does not have HDMI.
    4) Battery life is poor about 1.5-2 hours with power save mode on!!
    5) I think the resolution for 15.4 inch should be better. It supports only 1280x800 otherwise what is the use of bigger screen, it will only reduce battery life.
    6) Does not come with remote for media play. Play, pause, volume control buttons cannot be accessed with display closed.
    7) Speaker quality is below average.

    Update:
    1)Battery life is poor.
    2)Below average speaker quality.
    3)No bluetooth.
4)Not had any problems with Vista(yet).
5)Graphics performance is good for a laptop with integrated graphics w/shared memory(Good job, Intel).
    6)Lots of pre-installed junk.
7)Many websites with streaming videos won't work with opera/Firefox. I think it is Windows Media player issue.
8)IE stops accepting mouse input sometimes, only way out is to restart IE.
9)Mouse key is hard and noisy.
    10) No built-in bluetooth support.

With all these I would say it is still excellent overall, barring battery life.
